My New Look

To be honest, I've always been one to reinvent myself every few months. Or every month. Or once a week.
Shut up I'm not indecisive.
Anyway, I think I've finally landed on something that I truly enjoy.
Presenting, Rosie the Riveter and similar late 40s fashion... modernized for comfort and because I didn't have the high jeans I wanted.I like it. I was never really used to being bold and wearing red lips, but I've finally come out of my shell. And let me tell you, it gets me noticed. Whether good or bad, I don't care. I feel comfortable and happy in my old-fashioned look.

My New God

His name is Dr. Gerber.
And he is my chiropractor.
I've always had horrible joint problems. My shoulder burns a lot when I sit at the computer, and it's hard for me to be comfortable with my body because I slouch.
I'd never been to a chiropractor before, and I'm SO GLAD that I did.

He was practically freaking out when he touched my shoulders because they were so tense, and said "Wow, I expected you to be the easy one and your mom to be the problem. It's the opposite."
My mom can bend down farther than me. How sad is that?
When he laid me down on the table, he warned me that he would have to snap and crackle my back. To be honest, I expected this. In fact, I was excited about it.
He did some basic dexterity tests and such, explained that my body is completely effed up for a 16 year old, and went from there.
So I laid on the table on my stomach, and he felt up my spine to check my bones, and once again was just aghast with how horrible my back and shoulders are. (And my knees are messed up too.)

He first started with my back. He folded me up, leaned over me and CRACK. It felt SO GOOD.
He did it in a couple more places, but that's where the least of my trouble is. Then he went back to my crazy tense shoulders and neck. He goes "Okay, this will probably be loud since it's right by your ear." and so he moved my neck into position and was just about to apply the pressure when I hear CRACK. He goes "Jeese, I didn't even crack that! It was so tight it cracked itself just by me moving it!" That's right. My neck is so tense, the doctor didn't even do it yet and it cracked.
And then he did apply the pressure, and it cracked some more.
Did the same to the other side of my neck, cracked some other parts, and then I was done for the time being.
He takes me into a back room and has me lay on a table that has a dent in it, where it's just fabric over the hole. And then he turned it on.
I nearly died and went to heaven. It has a function where something inside of the table does a "wave" and waves up and down your back to realign your spine. I could've laid there all day.

Then he adjusted my mom, and when she went to the table he noticed that I was still rubbing my shoulder.
He goes "Is that still hurting you? Here, let me see if I can help that." So he took me back into the room and felt around and said that it was my rib. My rib hurting my shoulder? Imagine that.
He tried to crack me while I was on my stomach, but it wouldn't go. So he flipped me over and pressed and CRAAAAACK.
And then, all of the pressure, burning, and pain was gone. My shoulder was perfect. For the time being at least. He said this is the first in a long line of necessary appointments, which doesn't surprise me.

So today was a good day. I never realized my back could crack in so many places. And he said he can make my migraines go away. And I totally trust him. Why? Because he touched a spot on my neck and I realized that it hurt REALLY BAD just to have it touched. I didn't say anything and he goes "And there's the spot causing your headaches." So, I think he can really help me.

I love Dr. Gerber because he takes the time to explain things so that you understand. He saw me looking at my mom's xrays and said "Hey, I noticed you were looking at the xrays. Anything you want me to explain?" Most doctors don't want to take time with you, so I thought that was great. And he just has very kind eyes, and a lot of humor.

Hopefully with future visits (I'm going back on Friday, woo!) I can get a better posture and just all around feel better.
Until then, I long for the amazing feeling that follows the CRACK.

Here's the electric table they put me on that felt AMAZING.
TABLE!

Me and Shelby - Music Video Stars

Shelby and I decided to create a music video today. This is what we created:

...

Okay. I'm going to kick someone in the face.
Apparently it's messed up somehow, even though it's working fine on my computer.
So, I'll upload it to youtube or something.

If it doesn't load...
I'll be extremely angry. It should be loading. It was earlier.

Shelby kept forgetting the words, but I got tired of reshooting so that's just too diddlydarn bad for her.

I think I'm obsessed... Somebody help me.

I finished all of my schoolwork today.
So what have I been doing?

Reading Twilight.
For the fourth time.

It's kind of funny actually. When I finally decided to free myself from the grasp that Twilight holds me under, I popped in the movie Penelope completely forgetting the fact that at the very beginning is a Twilight preview. So I was sitting there going "La-de-da break from Twilight" and then BAM Twilight logo.
I went into the fetal position. I officially overdosed on Twilight.
I really didn't think it was possible. I've been hiding the track marks (paper cuts) from everyone. They've been telling me "You need help, find something else!" But ever since Twilight, nothing holds my interest.
Any book that I pick up is not as exciting. Not as riveting.
Any movie I watch doesn't hold that same sort of "OMG I CAN'T LOOK AWAY FROM THE SCREEN. HOLY CRAP I HAVE TO PEE BUT I'M NOT GETTING UP BECAUSE I'LL MISS SOMETHING." feeling.

Don't get me wrong, Twilight wasn't the most amazing movie I've ever seen, but it holds me because I've read the book.
And the book isn't the best book ever written, but the story is so sweet that I love it.
In other news, my mom divulged something to me that she shouldn't have. But I've been good. I mentioned that I love this website with vintage clothes called ModCloth and she goes "Don't you dare go snooping around in my email."
So, in other words, she bought me something from Modcloth for christmas, and I'm guessing the receipt for it is in her email.
Take this as a lesson, mothers. When you have teenagers, don't let them know flat out where the list of things you got them for Christmas is. Because if they don't have willpower like I do, they will look. And it will ruin Christmas for them because teenagers don't have willpower.

The only reason I'm blogging is because for whatever reason I fixed myself a cup of coffee and am wired up.
I took pictures.Anyway, I think I should go do something else with my time. Like comment everyone's blogs that I've so wrongfully neglected. Have a good... whatever time you read this at! Day/night/morning/evening/etc.!

I was bored so...

I did some stuff that wasn't studying. SHHH DON'T TELL ON ME.
Anyway, I've transitioned from playing World of Warcraft to Warcraft III.
Yes, there's a difference.

Anyway, me and my ex have started working on creating a map/game together. So I worked on that for some of the day. I'm the decorator, he's the hardcore coder. (My dainty girliness can't comprehend such things as "triggers" and "binary". I draw the line at HTML.)

But while he was working on a level and I was sitting here reading Twilight again, my friend Angela said she was thinking about getting a Christmas layout for her blog. I made hers, which is the one she's using (her screen is smaller than mine. it's odd, so her layout fits differently on both screens). Anyway, I decided to make myself a new layout too. Whatdya think?

My mom and I started Atkins a couple days ago. Let me tell you... I'm failing miserably.
You're allowed to have 20 carbs daily.
I had 70 today.
That's not TOO much over, right? Okay fine, I know I destroyed 3 and a half days worth of allowance with a pepsi, BUT I WAS THIRSTY.
I'll take some pictures tomorrow of random things, but for now I'm tired and think I'll go get some much needed sleep. Hope the rest of your day/night is great!

edit: I just realized I say "anyway" a lot.
Anyway, goodnight!
haha, kidding. It was a joke! I swear!

Temporary Slowdown

I've got finals coming up, and I really need to crack down on studying. So I'll be taking a temporary slowdown (not break, just a slowdown) on posting.
I've got two papers to do, and a math test to study for.
So wish me luck! If I miss 5 problems on my math final, my grade will jump down to a C.
Joy.

Oi mother... friggin' vey.

This is what I've looked like all afternoon. Why?
I had my speech today. Not so horrible, I've done speeches before.
But, this time was different. Apparently god took a 10 minute potty break right when I went up to speak.
My videos, my ONLY visuals, WOULDN'T PLAY. I tested them 50,000 times at home, I get up there prepared and already halfway into my speech and BAM, the damn things will not start.
So I'm standing there like an idiot, clicking the video about 50 times and then going "Okay, guess that won't work." So I had to work around it. I'm not good at improv.
THEN I could NOT remember the symptom "anaphylactic shock"
Here's me:
Some people have experienced temporary paralysis and uh... um... uhhhh... um... crap... ANAPHYLACTIC SHOCK. THAT'S IT. *grins like someone that just spied on someone naked*
The stupid video debacle got me all kinds of flustered. The good news? Talked to my teacher afterward, and she isn't going to dock me much for them. She says her computer is an old piece of crap, and it's possible my version of powerpoint wasn't compatible with hers.
Still, I looked like an idiot in front of the class. But, I stayed RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the time limits. The speech was required to be 8-10 minutes. I was at exactly 9:01. Score.

I took my math test today, too. Let me tell you, I'm pretty sure I aced it. Once I went up to the teacher and said "How do I do this again?" (It was just some stupid letter I couldn't remember.) Once I got it, the test was a breeze.
Lemme give you some examples for a brain funny fun funnerton. I should make this interesting. Anyone that correctly answers gets their blog banner at the top of my sidebar for a week? xD I don't get enough traffic for that to be any kind of incentive.
Anyway:
Let f(x) = -3x + 4 and g(x) = -x^2 + 4x + 1. Find the following:
13. f(-3)
14. g(10)
15. f(x - 2)

Wee, brain workout time.
My world lit teacher was absent today. Thank goodness for my friend Haylee. She's been putting off working on our final paper, and it was actually pretty funny. I met her downstairs of our building and we start talking, and she goes "I think I might start working on that final tonight." and I go "You realize that was due today, right?"
She about had a heart-attack. I had mine done weeks ago. Why? Because I'm a go-getter. Plus I can't freaking stand putting anything off. It stays on my brain forever.
But guess what? After I turn in all this shnizzle cheeze-whizzle... I'M DONE FOR THE SEMESTER. HALLELUJAH. And since I did my speech first, my teacher's all happy with me and the other 3 that went today. WE'RE BRAVE, WE AIN'T AFRAID. NO WAY.

I was terrified. But I wore my blue pumps and was ready to pump it into over-drive. Or like my friend Melora said to the class right before she spoke "As you can see I wore contrasting power colors in order to create a visual dynamic."
God that made me laugh so hard on the inside. It sounded so amazingly cheesy. So I got "Yeah, well I wore my power shoes. Because they're blue and awesome."
My comebacks happen to be amazing.

I think I might be turning emo. I'm sitting in my room with the lights off listening to Evanesence curled up typing on my computer like a shut-in. How lame am I? And my finger and toenails are black, as you can see in forementioned picture.
I'm slowly getting over my breakup. It's a long, very annoying process. But eh, whatdya gonna do? Teenagers tend to hang onto things way longer than necessary. I was talking to him and he made a joke about parenting being harmful and I said "I'm going to tell your kids you said that!" and he goes "Well sure, I can totally see you 10 years from now telling them that." and I go "10 years from now? Kids so soon? I don't know if I'll be okay with that by then!"
I'll probably have kids of my own at that point, but I'll still screw with him about it just because I can. "I... I don't think I'm okay with this. We've only been separated for 10 years. Are you sure that's enough time for us to "heal"?"
Oh the drama females can cause when they really, truly feel like it.
Anyway, speech was craptastic but the teacher seemed emotive during it.
My mom won't get me the Xbox 360 I want because I have a playstation.
I never even use it anymore. I want to trade it in.
Parents pulling the "I'm the parent" card during stuff like that makes me want to take some scissors and remove the rest of their cards.

Hope your day was better than mine, and if you ever need someone to give a speech about the HPV vaccine... don't ask me.
No, I'm serious. Don't ask me.
