Freaking Hair Color

I'm really irritated about my hair color.
When I first dyed my hair, it was a vibrant red. I loved it.
Drew told me that I looked like "the Little Mermaid".
I love the little mermaid. Who doesn't want hair like hers?I put that color in almost two weeks ago, and it still keeps coming out in the shower. For the first week, I had to use pink towels because when I used my white ones I covered them in red dye.
It was ridiculous.

Now my hair has gone from a vibrant red to a dark brown, with maybe a hint of red.
I'm thinking I'll have to re-dye my hair if I want it to be red enough.

I used "Feria by Loreal". It damaged my hair, the color has come out, and it stained all of my towels even two weeks after I used it.
That's ridiculous. It should stop coming out within a couple of days.

Now I'm angry, because my hair isn't the right color and it's damaged.
I'm going to have to find a way to fix it, and then re-dye it so that it can actually be the color it's SUPPOSED TO BE.
Loreal sucks.

I loved your hair color... but if it damaged your hair.. that can't be good!

Don't try Herbal Essences either. I used that line to dye my hair bright red in high school and it did the same thing, coming out in towels for two weeks. :(

wow. That's never happened to me. It says wash out really tiny on the bottom left corner. Maybe you didn't see it?
I used clairol and it nurished my hair and made it less damaged than it was before.
They do the Nice & Easy and the Herbal Essences hair color.
I used the natural intincts and it came out beautiful.
I used a wash out. So if you want it permanent, don't get semi-permanent or wash out cause it will fade. Also, you don't want a grey coverage because it dyes differently.
That's that. =]

That sucks that the dye did that to your hair! I've only ever dyed my hair blonde with the one exception of a purple streak in jr. high lol. Feria is supposed to be really good though, hmm... is there a number you can call to complain? Maybe they will refund your money or something.

I think that red is one of those colors that fades really quickly. I hope it gets fixed!

I'm sorry your hair is damaged. What a nightmare! I hope you can get something figured out soon.

We most certainly do not suck. Most likely a bad batch of dye. All dyes damage hair, though. Especially if they're demi-permanent or permanent. Best of luck in the future! ^_^

WOW--look at you getting comments from the Loreal guy!! Interesting.

I broke down last time and used Garnier hair dye and I loved it. I prefer my stylist to color it but she is going to have a baby any minute. Try Garnier--they have some awesome reds!!

Sorry but I LOVE Loreal Feria, it is what I USE. When you are doing reds, really red reds, the color may still tinge the water for a second, at he most a third day, if you have really thick hair like me, but for like 2 weeks, no. Did you make sure it ran totally clear the first night you rinsed it after coloring?

And reds are the hardest to maintain of all hair colors. That is why I do it every single month. And usually it is not the color I love after 2 weeks, but I wait for the full month so I am not destroying my hair.

I try to help keep the color by using shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair AND a tip I was told, when you rinse out the conditioner, use cold water to help seal the color in.

I am so mad still, because before my surgery I would use a SEMI permanent and for some reason it would stay the same vibrant red for 6, YES SIX, months at a time. After the surgery something about my hair's chemical make-up changed and I have my lovely red faded in 2 weeks.

What color/number did you use anyway?

THank god Im a boy...never have to work about dying my hair. Vibrant red is a good color, little Mermaid is hot! Especially when she has legs and cant talk. Perfect woman? I THINK SO!

That happened when I was dying my hair black all the time. After awhile, my hair couldn't hold the color... Wish I could give you some advice, but my hair is so fried, I need to shave my head and start all over... Good luck. :)

Time to go to the salon!

Red is REALLY hard to keep up, especially when done at home. I think a salon could help!

I use the semi-permanent color. I think it's less damaging. Red is a hard color, so good luck.

I have never dyed my hair so I am no help. Good luck!

I'm sorry you're not having much luck with the hair dye. That's why I never fuss with dyes...all they do is damage your hair anyway.

I'm to chicken to color my own hair. I pay out the wazoo to have the professional do it!

It's still a cute color.

When you color your hair red you should buy a red shampoo, this will keep your red vibrant longer. Try one made by Redken, this will maintain your hair looking good longer and you won't need to re-dye it as often, just your roots. Another thing you can do is when re-touching your roots is leave on roots for 20 min then pull it to the rest of the hair. This will even out the color on the red and won't damage your colored hair as much.

Good luck!!!
