Vroom Vroom... the Sound of Impending Doom

So, this family moved in across the street a couple of weeks ago.
That's nice, right?
Yeah, except I'm going to call the cops if they keep it up.

You see, this family is a military family.
I have no problem with the military.
I do have a problem with a military family that comes out EVERY DAY/NIGHT with their motorcycle and sits in the driveway revving it.
For TWO HOURS.

Tonight they started at 9:00. They stopped at 9:55. Then, they started again at 10:15.
I'm getting sick of this. They rev the engine, and then ride in a circle around the neighborhood, and then they stop at the house and rev and rev again.

I'm getting really tired of this crap. We moved into this neighborhood because it was quiet and safe.
Now it's loud, and to be perfectly honest I don't feel so safe.
We can't call the cops, because by the time they get out here, the people would be back in the house.
But it's still so disruptive. Whenever I sit down to work on my schoolwork, I don't need to be hearing VROOOOOOM VROOOOOOOOOM right outside of my window.
I was trying to work on some articles a couple of days ago, and they were outside revving their engine the entire time.
I almost lost it. It took me two hours to write one article because I couldn't concentrate.

I don't know what to do. But if I'm forced to do something, it won't be pretty.

I think you could still call the police and file a noise complaint. They can still talk to them.

We have a couple of teens and some adults that drive up and down our street on dirt bikes over and over. Problem is? Some of the adult motorcyclers are cops. So you think they are gonna get busted by their friends? Nope. And the teens dads are friends and co-riders with the cops neighbors, so we are screwed and have to deal with it even if we are trying to sleep or nap. And dirt bikes are WAY noisier than road bikes, they make perpetual noise. And are only allowed on dirt!! But these jerks don't care and don't care if their kids are cretins!!

We had the same problem on our street so my neighbors called the cops and filed a noise complaint. They did it enough times it stopped after a while. Good luck with that crap!

How annoying! I agree, you guys should file a noise complaint. The cops will still go talk to them. You could tape it too and be like seee they are doing it at this hour. :)

You can still call the police and file a complaint. Every time you call it will be logged. I would recommend you also set up a video camera or something of the sort..that will run for the duration of them being noisy. The key is to start recording as soon as the problem starts and make sure that you document the time and date at the beginning and end of the recording. (i.e. as soon as you turn the camera/recorder on say the time and date, then just before turning it off do the same). You file a couple of complaints and hand those over to the police, they don't have a choice but to deal with the problem. That's what I did with my neighbor and his dog for the first 6-9 months.

In our city, the police have to measure the noise and tell them who was complaining, which could be awkward and make them hate you- yucko.

Find out your options before you do that- if the police 'drive by' and hear it on their own and it is too loud they can just issue a ticket onot he spot.

Okay....go invest in some large huge headphones that cover your ears and find lots of music you loce for when you need to work and they are being jerks!

We had an old neighbor that did this with his motorcycle too. What is with that??

Get some ear plugs. =]
We used to have a crazy neighbor, less to the extent of noise and more to the extent of my brother riding his bike to close to their house and getting threatined.
Yeah, he was a looni.
