Tennessee Trip Day Two

Today's trip originally went smoothly.
Originally.
We woke up around 7 AM, and we got out around 9 AM.
My mom wasn't feeling well, but we still went on with the trip.
We stopped at an indian store, and I picked up a few little gifts for Drew and Izzy.

I got a Subway sandwich and ate it, and Tiffany was quiet in the back of the car.

We decided to pull into Tucumcari, New Mexico around 6 o'clock.
It's better to get off the road early and leave early in the morning than end late, which leads to starting late.

It was storming around here, so we went right in the same parking lot and got some dinner.
Right after we got our dinner salads all made... the power went out in the restaurant.

"Oh crap."

We figure it's just a transformer in the restaurant.
Logical, right?

Someone comes in, and we ask them if there's power in the hotel.
"Nope."
Damnit.

We ate our dinner at the restaurant, even though it was getting majorly muggy. (No air conditioning and all.)
We had to pay cash, since there was no way to use a credit card.

We get back to the hotel, and not only is there no power, but our smoke alarm is going off.
Peaches and cream.

We decide to pack up the car and go to another hotel all the way in Amarillo, which is 100 miles away.
We pack up the car, get IN the car, put the key in the ignition...
and all the power comes back on in the hotel.
Thanks god, haha. Haha. Funny, funny joke.

So we're staying at that hotel now.
I've been collecting postcards from each state we drive through. So far, I have two.
Also, I tried commenting on all of your blogs.
But my internet is heinously slow. So hopefully I can comment you guys tomorrow.

I'm still trying to be the best blogger I can be!

Sorry about the power:(

Yeah, I like both of those postcards. What a cool idea - to collect postcards from every state you drive through.

I hate it when the power goes out, and everything gets ultra hot and muggy.

I like the Arizona ones, kinda retro postcard!

Well I am glad you didn't get like far and then found out the electricity was back, but I would not have stayed either somewhere that didn't have electricity. The restaurant is lucky that you had cash, what would they do, it wasn't YOUR fault!

I can't believe you have Tiffany with you. My cats would FREAK FREAK FREAK out. They don't even handle the ONE MILE vet drive well...at all.

Looks like your having a good time for the most part. I LOVE road trips!

Keep posting for us as much as you can. I know how slow those hotel connections can be.

Love and Prayers,

Tim

I love the idea of the postcards. I take pictures of the Welcome signs. Glad that you are having a great trip minus the power!

haha that's cute! and a good memory. I've always wanted to collect something froms trips. I guess i started something with jewelry and zoo's but that's about it. That's really funny how you packed up, got in the car, and the lights went on. That's a joke to tell forever.
