Yeah, my perm came out.
I'm not surprised. The last time I had a perm (4th grade), it came out the same day.
It's so disappointing to sit there for 3 hours doing the process, and then have it amount to nothing.
Twice.
So what am I going to do?
Go to the salon near my house and have THEM do it.
And if it doesn't stick then, I'm shaving my head and telling everyone to call me Steve.
Because my hair is not fit to be a woman.
I had to write a paper for my history class today.
Woo, huh?
It's like "Here's some stuff that happened a long time ago. Give your opinion on it. But your opinion is probably WRONG."
The scariest part of the day has been putting together my fall schedule.
I got the VERY last day for registration.
Seriously, the last last. As in people have had two weeks ahead of me to choose classes.
Which means that I get the bottom of the barrel classes.
The "Staff" classes.
"What's a staff class?" you may be asking as you eat an entire sleeve of thin mints, or wear a snuggie inappropriately.
Well, a staff class is a class that does not have an assigned teacher yet.
Which in reality means you could get the best teacher in the world, or by MY experience get a teacher that you want to frame for murder.
Any staff class that I had was a class from hell, so I avoid them at ALL costs.
I'm nervous. Of course I set up a schedule that had 3 class choices for each time slot, but that doesn't mean ANY of them will be available. If I have to pad my schedule with staff classes I am going to be so mad.
I may actually frame someone for murder.
I wouldn't do the murdering of course.
I would just... find a murder and frame someone for it.
Yep, that's what I'd do.
My sign up day is tomorrow while I'm at school, so I'm dragging along my laptop and watching por... I mean taking notes tomorrow.
Although I'll probably just use the laptop to sign up for my classes and put it away.
Of course the cursing that would ensue probably won't help.
"WHAT? MY HISTORY TEACHER'S CLASS IS FULL!? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"
My whole Monday schedule is based around the history teacher that I have now.
I love his class. He's so enthusiastic and it's funny. He'll get so into his lectures.
But that's what I love. I love having a teacher that loves what he does.
Because when you have the self-loathing "I COULD'VE BEEN AN ASTRONAUT" teacher, your life is a living hell the entire semester.
Here's a run-down of what my schedule will (ideally) look like.
Be prepared to cringe.
Monday and Wednesday:
History 101 = 9:30 AM - 10:50 AM
Philosophy 102 OR Psychology 102 = 11:00 AM - 12:20 PM
Astronomy 101 OR Philosophy 102 = 12:30 PM - 1:50 PM
Tuesday and Thursday:
Spanish 112 = 9:00 AM - 10:50 AM
Anthropology 101 (Only if I do not have 3 classes on Monday) = 11:00 AM - 12:20 PM
Physics 110 = 12:30 PM - 2:20 PM OR
Geology 101 OR Biology 101 = 11:00 AM - 3:30 PM
In all = 17 Credits
Confusing as hell, right?
It's the weirdest mix of classes. But it's what I have to run with.
I will be SO disappointed if something falls through. These classes are perfectly synchronized and completely satisfy what I need for my degree.
I determined actually that if I took two science classes and two of my social science classes along with my Philosophy class, I'd only have Spanish and History left.
And then I realized that I'd only have one Spanish class per semester. Which would be cool, but actually a waste of space.
I'd rather take many classes than one. That's just stupid.
Is it bad that I'm choosing Physics over biology? My reasoning for it is simple.
Physics is a combined class with their lab. (I need one science with a lab, one without.)
Astronomy would satisfy without, so Physics would satisfy with.
That will leave me with two semesters of spanish, and two social science classes.
Which is like Psychology and Anthropology.
So I would take Spanish, Psychology, Anthropology, and then go to University and round out my last year of Spanish there while working on my bachelors.
Woo.
Spanish at University is HARD. Like, shoot yourself in the eye after you got your BB Gun hard.
"You'll shoot your eye out!" "I know, I'm trying to, I have to take University spanish!" "Oh god, that's awful! Here, take my gun!"
I'll get through it, I hope. But taking FIVE classes next semester is a bold move on my part.
Especially with names like "philosophy" and "physics".

I had to take either math or Spanish, and I went with math. Which was odd because I'm not good at math, and I took 5 years of Spanish. Good luck!
I hope the salon perm works out for you! I always wanted a perm when I was little (because my hair is straight), but I never got one...
I also hope that you do really well on your history paper!
I can't believe that you'd pick physics (ew applied math)over biology! :-P
Geez! How many hours is that like 20? If anyone can do it you can.
I hope that you get all the classes and teachers you want. Dont worry about your hair, it doesnt need ANYTHING. It looks great to me just as it is. Just dont cut it.
Love and Prayers,
Tim
I cannot wait to see the salon perm, but holy crap Lee that is a LOT of credits, are you going to be able to handle that okay? If you do this, there should be a section of the school that can help you if you feel yourself falling behind, email me if you need any details.
Why NO fun classes? Even in the beginning before I took LOADS of art of graphic classes which ARE hard, so you know, I would take at least one class per semester that was for sheer enjoyment but still counted credit wise!! Once it was even Algebra...love it! I know, I am sick.
Good luck with your classes. I do not miss those days! I wish I had taken anthropolgy though.
I can't wait to see how your perm turns out.
I wish I continued with Spanish after high school. We get kids in the detention center that only speak Spanish (they're picked up at the borders in Michigan and may or may not be illegal) and I begin with the simple phrases like "Me llama es Miss Colby" and they assume I know what the hell I'm saying and usually start speaking very fast paragraphs. I then have to tell them I only know a little (I say "pequeno) and they look so let down :( Anyhow, good luck with classes. I took Astronomy, I thought I would love it but it was hard for me and I did NOT love it. My best college course was Psychology of Stress and Relaxation...we literally lit candles and slept the entire session...loved it!
That sounds seriously confusing I don't get it at all. Spanish sounds good, but I detest physics...
I had a dream last night that I was in Las Vegas. Your fault? Probably. It was nice and sunny though.
Anyway, hope it all works out okay!
17 Credits, you are gonna be DESTROYED! you'll have NO time for blogging! =(
Looks like a tough schedule. I hope you get the courses you want! I took a few anthropology classes at UCF and loved them. It was fun and really quite easy. :)
Good luck with the perm at the salon - they shouldn't ruin it and if they do demand your money back!
Hee hee. I know exactly what a staff class is. Unfortunately, I got my fair share of them in college.
I also had perms that fell out immediately after getting them. I hope your next one sticks!
17 credits? Ok, I'm going to start looking for a mental hospital for you. Just in case.
I think the most I've ever taken at once was 15, that was hard!
Sorry bout the perm! Perms never stayed in my hair either. But don't shave your head! You can't go Britney Spears on us!
Oh, and I'm sure you realize this, but your photography and contact link things at the top of the page are behind the columns...I know that you probably already know this, but I thought I'd mention it anyway!
